The mother of the little child reportedly sold her daughter for N50,000 which she used in buying things for herself.
A commercial sex worker, Grace Onome, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly selling her two-year-old daughter for N50,000.
The suspect had four other accomplices who were all apprehended by officers of the security force, Daily Post reports. SP Dolapo Badmos , the Police Public Relations Officer said Onome sold her daughter to a colleague identified as
Endurance , who worked as a prostitute in the Mobil area of Badagry.
The mother of the child was arrested on Saturday, October 1, 2016 following a secret information given to the police.
“The fleeing buyer, who is of no fixed address, fled with the girl to a yet-to-be-ascertained location to resell her. But the police are on her trail."
“As at press time, Zainab is yet to be found but the mother has confessed to be a commercial sex worker, and also to the crime."
“Effort is ongoing to track the fleeing suspected buyer and the child", Badmos added.
